Overview
Thermo’s Orbitrap Eclipse mass spectrometer allows for the acquisition of direct infusion and liquid chromatography- mass spectrometry data. Samples range from whole proteins, complex digests, and purified molecules for analysis on the instrument.
Description

The Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer
Orbitrap mass spectrometry enables the precise determination of the mass and sequential structure of molecules following fragmentation through a number of methods (collision-induced dissociation, Higher-energy collisional dissociation, and/or electron-transfer dissociation). Applications combined with liquid chromatography allow for efficient, reproducible analysis of complex samples such as protein digests.
The combination of mass spectrometry with differential ion mobility through the FAIMS Pro™ interface offers another dimension of separations based on factors such as charge state, shape, and conformation.
Applications
Characterization of purified glycans or glycoproteins for glycomics and glycoproteomics, sequencing and linkage analysis of complex oligosaccharides, ion mobility studies
