Overview
BioTools’ ChiralIR-2X VCD spectrometer offers all digital processing to improve the stability and suppress instrument artifacts allowing the simultaneous monitoring of infrared (IR) and VCD spectra.
Description

BioTools ChiralIR-2X VCD
The ChiralIR–2X VCD measures the differences in absorbance between left and right circularly polarized IR radiation. VCD is an analytical method for determining the absolute configuration of chiral molecules, extending the functionality of electronic circular dichroism into the IR spectral region.
The combination of the stereo-sensitivity of circular dichroism with the structural specificity of FT-IR spectroscopy, provides access to multiple well-defined bands that provide quantitative information about the sample.
Applications
The ChiralIR-2X VCD is used to provide configurational and conformational information on a wide array of materials including polymers, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, proteins, peptides, and chiral drugs.
Associated Equipment: Parker FT-IR Purge Gas Generator
