A Senior Project Associate with the Fralin Life Sciences Institute, Linda serves as Managing Director for GlycoMIP, a National Science Foundation Materials Innovation Platform (MIP). Formally, she was managing director for the Wood-Based Composites Center (WBC), an NSF Industry/ University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC) at Virginia Tech and Oregon State University. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, she worked for Weyerhaeuser Company as Technical Director in a large manufacturing facility.
Linda provides an array of support services for GlycoMIP, and is directly involved in outreach and education programs, as well as GlycoMIP’s User Facility. She provides business management and reporting services for GlycoMIP, working with faculty and students on GlycoMIP-related activities. She comes to GlycoMIP with proven experience developing and managing activities for a multi-university research center.
With significant industry and academic experience, Linda enjoys coaching students on selecting career paths and seeking the “right job” upon graduation. Linda holds a B.S. degree in Forestry from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst and a M.S. degree in Forest Products from Virginia Tech.
