Nicoya Open Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)

Overview

Nicoya’s OpenSPR is a high‑quality, benchtop surface plasmon resonance (SPR) system
that provides label‑free measurements of binding kinetics, affinity, and
thermodynamic parameters for a wide variety of molecular interactions. The OpenSPR
uses nanotechnology‑based sensors to deliver highly sensitive and reproducible
kinetic data.

Description

Nicoya OpenSPR benchtop surface plasmon resonance system
Nicoya OpenSPR benchtop surface plasmon resonance instrument used for molecular interaction analysis.

The OpenSPR features integrated control and data‑analysis software, enabling remote connection and instrument operation. Microfluidic flow control allows accurate measurement and analysis of molecular interactions while maintaining low sample consumption and high analytical precision.

Binding analyses are performed using injection volumes as low as 150 µL, with sensitivity reaching picomolar affinity ranges.

Applications

The OpenSPR supports characterization and screening of kinetics and affinity, competition assays, concentration analysis, thermodynamic measurements, and epitope mapping or binning for a wide range of biomolecules, including:

  • Glycopolymers and glycoconjugates
  • Nanoparticles and glycolipids
  • Polysaccharides
  • Antibodies and proteins
  • Cells, nucleic acids, and viruses

Available Sensors

The following surface functionalizations are available for OpenSPR binding studies:

  • Carboxyl (amine coupling using EDC/NHS chemistry)
  • NTA (histidine‑tagged targets)
  • Streptavidin (biotin‑tagged targets)
  • Biotin (streptavidin‑coupled targets)
  • Protein A (IgG‑based antibodies)
  • Thiol (thiol‑ or maleimide‑tagged targets)
