Shimadzu LC-UV

Shimadzu UPLC system with ultraviolet and fluorescence detectors
Shimadzu UPLC system equipped with ultraviolet (UV) and fluorescence detection for carbohydrate analysis.

Overview

This ultra‑performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) system is equipped with both ultraviolet (UV) and fluorescence detectors. It enables the separation, identification, and quantification of biomass hydrolysates and labeled carbohydrates.

Description

The Shimadzu UPLC‑UV/RFU system provides a flexible analytical platform for carbohydrate analysis, particularly for samples that are not amenable to liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC‑MS). The system supports both isocratic and gradient elution protocols at operating pressures exceeding 10,000 psi (700 bar).

This platform is commonly used to quantify carbohydrates in diverse sample types,
typically following derivatization using standard bench‑top methods.

Applications

  • Monosaccharide analysis
  • Disaccharide analysis
  • Selected oligosaccharide analysis
